WHAT IS THE PENALTY FOR MISSING A COURT DATE AND NOT PAYING?

0

There is a $25 late fee for all tickets (except No Seatbelt tickets) not paid in person or by mail by the court date assigned on your ticket. If you pay on-line, you have until midnight of the court date to make the payment. If payment is not received, a notice will be mailed to you informing you of your new court date and that the late fee has been imposed. You can either appear in Court on this new date, or you may pay the ticket plus late fee on or before the new court date. If you Fail to Pay your ticket on or before your new court date or Fail to Appear at your new court date, the City Court will notify the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) to suspend your driver’s license. The next notice you will receive will be from the BMV giving you a deadline for paying your ticket with the West Lafayette City Court or your driver’s license will be suspended.
