What is the philosophical doctrine created by Confucius and followed in China?

I am not an expert but I have lived in China. There was two major schools of philosophy in ancient China. Taoism and Confucius ideas Taoism was founded by Lao tzu and according to some legends he was the teacher of Kung tzu or Confucius. Both schools were focusing on how man can live in harmony Taoism was more go with the flow orientated and Confucius was more interested in rules that should be followed by people and his ideas led to bureaucracy. According to my friend the judge of Sichuan Province there is a little Confucius living in side the head of every Chinese person. Confucius ideas are undergoing some revival today in China as a lot of their ideas were rejected by the Chinese government during the cultural revolution.
