What is the policy for snow plowing? When do the plows go out and when is salt used?
A snow emergency is when 1 1/2″ of snow fall occurs. Plows go out at various times depending on the time of snowfall. Salt is used for slippery conditions as needed or requested by the Police Department to allow safe traffic flow. Main Highways and arterial streets are almost always salted for each snow event.
