What is the Preliminary Eliminating Stage (PES)?
The ‘PES’ overcomes unnecessary travel for entrants, particularly those of you in other countries. You can enjoy participating in the WMPC from, any country and anywhere in the UK. Through ‘PES’ the focus becomes, preparation of your work for the WMPC, without the worry of planning travel and time away from what you do normally. Because the WMPC uses set music, entrants will need all their concentration to search for their unique interpretation of it. That will be their challenge. The good news is that each has the same opportunity to first listen to the CD with the composer playing his ideas. What will be your interpretation? When you think you have done your best, record your performance on cassette tape or other. Then, send it to WMPC to arrive not later than sixty calendar days before the date of the competition. Incidently, do not worry about the quality of recording, only the quality of your work.
