What is the present IT set up at Electrolux?
We have around 1500 employees. The company has 500+ desktops, 90 laptops, and 20 servers. The network is spread over three factories, 18 branches, 27 CFAs, including the corporate office, based in Gurgaon. All these locations are connected either through virtual private network (VPN) or VSATs. We are using JD Edwards, (Groups Standard ERP application) as ERP system since 1997. We have outsourced our facilities management of IT infrastructure to Wipro Ltd since 2001. There is one technology officer who is responsible for the network, one JDE technical person and 5 project managers who are also applications support personnels. We have one help desk where all the calls of technical applications are logged and tracked. We have a commitment to business to resolve all the calls in a given time based on the category of call.
