I had a termination at 6 weeks in 2002. (I am based in the UK). I was 18 at the time & in no position to raise a child responsibly. They gave me a tablet & then I went home. 24 hours later, I had to go back to the hospital & I was admitted to a ward. They gave me another 2 tablets (which basically bring on a miscarriage). I was in for 8 hours & once the pain had eased, I was allowed home. (Sorry for too much info here but…) I bled constantly for 4 weeks afterwards, and on day 24 after it, I woke up to find my bed absolutely covered in blood (and I mean dripping). I rang NHS direct & they insisted I go to A&E. They did an examination & told me I had an infected womb. They had no explanation as to why this had happened. I had followed their instructions perfectly- attended the follow up ultrasound, not had sex, not used tampons, avoided alcohol… I had to take 3 different anti biotics for 2 weeks to get over the infection. This is supposed to be the most risk free method of terminatio
