What is the Procedure for Adopting a Greyhound from Three Rivers Greyhounds?
Complete and submit or mail the online application to GPA/Three Rivers Greyhounds. Once the application is reviewed, you will be interviewed by phone. The next step will be a home visit. The adoption counselor will schedule a home visit with the entire potential adoptive family. If requested, the adoption counselor will bring one of their own pet Greyhounds to the home visit. In bringing a Greyhound into your house you can see their temperament with everyone and everything in the home. You have the chance to ask any questions regarding Greyhounds that you can think of. You also see the size of a Greyhound in your house and also what may have to be dog-proofed before a Greyhound can live there. You will then shortly hear from the adoption counselor to let you know if you have been approved. Following approval for adoption and a successful home visit, you will have to obtain the necessary adoption “equipment” – a large bed, raised bowls, etc. Finally, you will visit the adoption location
