The procedure time is about 2 hours. The actual bleaching is 3 or 4 sessions of 15 minutes. However we need additional 30-60 minutes to prepare the teeth for bleaching and also do appropriate gels to desensitize and strengthen the teeth.  more

It can depend on which type of procedure you are using. Here are some examples:
  • Laser Whitening Procedure: depending on where you have the procedure and the level of whitening you are requesting, it can take 1 hour or more. You are given a tray with whitening gel to place over your teeth like a mouth tray. The laser will then be directed over your mouth to help speed up the whitening process of the gel.

  • Traditional Tray Whitening: You will need to sit in your dentist's chair for 2 hours or more to wait for this procedure to finsih. Gel will be applied in the same manner as the laser whitening procedure and will rest in your mouth on a mouth tray to allow the gel to penetrate your teeth.

  • Whitening Strips: Depending on which product you purchase, some over-the-counter whitening strips can dissolve in your mouth within 15-20 minutes and other products might require you to wear a tray.
As always, you should consult a dentist before performing a whitening procedure on your teeth.
