If you are asking the process of starching shirts at a cleaners. They wash the shirts and then add starch to the rinse cycle, then while the shirts are wet they go to a HOT press to be pressed and dried at the same time. The look fresh and crisp and have permanent creases in them. The starch keeps them from getting set in stains. Stains come out of them alot easier when they are starched. If you are asking about Home starching it`s basically the same thing put most ppl at home starch their cloths damp or dry them first.  more
