The proposed assessment formula for the Downtown Boston BID is: • For properties assessed at less than $70 million, $1.10 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. • For properties assessed at a higher value, $1.10 per $1,000 of assessed value up to $70 million, plus $.50 per $1,000 of assessed value over $70 million. • For most properties, this will translate to a cost of 16 to 25 cents per square foot of building area.
