What is the purpose of anti-cavitation valve in the hydraulically operated flight controls, like aileron?

Well, in general any valve that prevents cavitation is trying to prevent vibration within the hydraulic lines which otherwise would cause wear and tear such as pitting in the metal or other parts of a hydraulic system. The vibration is usually caused by the fluid itself, be it from operation of that system, or heating of the fluid, which can actually create microscopic bubbles, which then are rapidly compressed within the hydraulic system due to the intense pressure of the fluid, causing a small amount of vibration. Times this effect by a hundred, or even thousand times a minute, and you have a lot of vibration, that can wear down parts within the system.
