What is the purpose of frame forwarding statistics?

0

Each time the server forwards a visitor to your target URL, this is appended to a log file. The frame forwarding statistics page provides access to this information, and displays daily, monthly and yearly summaries of all forwarding activity. Frame forwarding loads the target URL in a frame, and a hit is logged each time that frame is loaded. Links from the page that is loaded within the frame will not generate further hits unless those links reference the forwarding domain in their URL (as per this previous FAQ). For example, if “myforward.com” is the domain that is using frame forwarding, and “http://www.mydomain.com/myfiles/” is the URL that is being forwarded to, if that page includes a link to “http://www.mydomain.com/myfiles/mypage.html”, no hit would be logged when that link is followed. However, if this link is changed to reference the forwarding domain (as per this FAQ), a hit would be logged each time the link was followed.
