What is the purpose of the Outdoor Education Camp?
This camp is an extension of the school classroom, but instruction takes place in natural surroundings. Contrary to some opinions, the camp is not entirely a “fun time” camping trip. The Outdoor Education Program is designed to promote conservation of our natural resources, a topic of great interest to our nation. Classroom instruction exposes students to ideas on conservation during the weeks prior to attending camp. The camp program then allows the students to actually observe and learn first-hand how to put these ideas into practice. There will be a follow-up in the classroom.
