– The Oak is a Northern Appalachian Red Oak with a tight grain and selected for color uniformity. – The Maple is a White Hard Maple selected for color uniformity and whiteness. – The Cherry is a Select Grade with a minimum 95% of heartwood (redness) on the front. We do our best to be consistent with the degree of heartwood in the Cherry and buy from the same mill or at least the same area. Please note that the back of the doors are NOT heavy heartwood, but will be 25-60% heartwood. – The Paint Grade Maple is unselected Hard Maple. This wood is not uniform in color and is ideal for painting or staining with a VERY dark stain. – The Panel doors have veneers which are A1 (good 2 sides) in Maple, Oak and Cherry. The panels are 1/4″ thick.
