What is the rationale behind designing ATMA on the lines of GMAT?

For a long time members of AIMS were keen that it starts a test for selecting students for their MBA and other master’s level programmes. GMAT is a test which is accepted globally. All the tests conducted today would have used the structure of GMAT for their tests each one with some variation or the other. We have tried to make ATMA as close to GMAT as possible except that the Indian situation gets reflected in the setting up of questions for the test.
