What is the Reformed Faith?
It is widely recognized that the family, church, and state are in rough shape these days. What is needed is a new reformation. Beginning with the family, there needs to be a return to the form of teachings and practices revealed in the Bible. Specifically, the term Reformed comes from the recovery of biblical teaching that took place during the sixteenth century Protestant Reformation. Although Reformed believers are grateful for the contributions of men like Martin Luther, John Calvin, and John Knox, they recognize that the Reformed Faith is essentially about conforming the beliefs and practices of the church to Scripture. The goal of reformers of all times, therefore, is to see believers fully submit their lives to the authority of Scripture and the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The Reformed Faith is in agreement with the beliefs of historic Christian orthodoxy. These basic beliefs include: the Trinity, the deity and humanity of Christ, the need for atonement for sin, the resurrection of
