What is the relationship between anger and low self esteem?
Most people who have an anger management problem suffer from low self esteem. And of course, the connection between low self esteem and anger is critical. People who have a low self esteem problems don’t quite know what their emotional needs are. And examples of emotional needs is to feel valued, to feel appreciated, to feel trusted, to feel understood, to feel cared for, to be listened to, to feel appreciated, to feel significant. And often you’ll find that there’s this link between the anger and not having these primary needs met. These primary needs are directly linked to low self esteem. So in order for somebody to increase the self esteem, to feel confident, to feel cared for, to feel valued, they have to begin to identify what these primary needs are and when they feel angry, also communicate these primary needs.
