What is the relationship between the thumbnails and the original (saved) files?
A thumbnail shows the location and details of the original file (called the original file or source file or saved file.) A thumbnail is not the original saved file. Still picture files, movie files and sound files can all be saved in your PC’s hard disk as original files; the thumbnails of these files contains the detail information of these saved original files in a compact form to be used in the ImageMixer application. A thumbnail acts like a “shortcut” (in Windows machines) or as an “Alias” in Macintosh machines.
