What is the Rhode Island Apprenticeship Program?
Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. Apprenticeship programs are sponsored by joint employer and labor groups, individual employers and/or employer associations. Placement into this structured system is through a Sponsor. PLEASE NOTE: The Apprenticeship Program does not provide job placement. It is the responsibility of the future apprentice to find employment with a registered sponsor.
