What is the rhyme scheme for a tercet poem?
Tercets are simply 3 line poems or three line stanzas within a poem, and they have no particular rhyme scheme or meter—an English langauage haiku doesn’t rhyme at all, but it’s still a tercet.
The rhyme scheme described above (aba bcb cdc ded …) is terza rima, indeed used by Dante in his Divine Comedy, and it does consist of tercets. A terza rima sonnet is 4 stanzas of terza rima followed by a couplet rhyming ee with the middle line of the last tercet.
