What is the risk of bird flu spreading to the UK?
The Department of Health says it remains a “very remote” possibility that the virus in its current form could be introduced to poultry or people in Britain through the migration of wild birds, the importation of dead chickens for consumption, the illegal importation of live birds or the entry into the UK of a person who had acquired the illness in an infected area.
