What is the risk of contracting West Nile Virus from either handling or consuming wild game birds?
There are no reported cases of West Nile virus being contracted through the handling or consumption of wild birds, however more research about the disease is required. Available information indicates that mosquitoes are the primary cause of the spread of West Nile virus.
