What is the rule for electric bicycles, motorized scooters or skateboards, go-carts, etc.?
If an object has a motor that makes it self-propelled, it meets the definition of a Motor Vehicle. Electric bicycles, motorized scooters, motorized skateboards, go-carts, go-peds, golf carts, and kiddie cars are all motor vehicles. Unless it meets State of Michigan requirements and is registered through the Michigan Secretary of State, it is prohibited from operation on any public street. Operation on sidewalks is also prohibited.
