The Yankees’ rally came off Phillies closer Brad Lidge, who had pitched five scoreless outings this postseason before Sunday. With two outs and the score ted 4-4 in the ninth, Johnny Damon worked Lidge through a nine-pitch at-bat before singling. Then Lidge hit Mark Teixeira and Rodriguez followed with his double to left. Jorge Posada then singled in two more runs. The Phillies’ Pedro Feliz homered off Yankees reliever Joba Chamberlain with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to tie the score 4-4. Pitching on three days’ rest, the Yankees’ CC Sabathia allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings. Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth inning for his 39th career postseason save.
