What is the significance of a septum piercing to the Zulu tribe?

While I am uncertain as to the detailed meaning in Kenya, the common tribal meaning of septum piercings worldwide (of Papua new Guinea, North American natives, Mayans, Aztecs, Aborigines, etc) is that one has reached manhood (as decoration when on women) and/or establishes warrior status, not to mention to look fiercer to enemies, or by elders only as a sign of signifigance and respect which I have heard is true of the Kenyan tribe (I think it may be the Turkana tribe (possibly Poket) that these people are referring to, within whom it is worn by only elders as a sign of respect).
