What is the significance of Jesus rising again the third day?
If Christ had remained in the grave His death would have been no more than that of a martyr, it was His resurrection that demonstrated that he was the Son of God, that is, God in the flesh. His resurrection proves that His death was of sufficient value to God to cover all our sins, because His sacrifice was the sacrifice of the Son of God. In addition, to those of us who have believed in His name His resurrection gives us the hope that we to will be raised from the dead to everlasting life.
