What is the significance of the name Licensure Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)?
This program has two major objectives. The first is to become qualified to obtain a Vermont teaching license in middle level education. The second is to obtain a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Curriculum and Instruction. The licensing requirements can be met without totally fulfilling the degree requirements. In order to complete the master’s degree, a student must complete two additional courses and write a final comprehenseive paper, in addition to successfully completing the licensure requirements.
