What is the South Oxfordshire Partnership?

0

The South Oxfordshire Partnership (SOP) is the local strategic partnership (LSP) for the area. Government requires every local authority to set up an LSP to produce a community strategy and develop partnership working. SOP was set up in May 2002. It brings together many organisations from the public, private, voluntary, community and faith sectors (see SOP Membership List – appendix one). What is a community strategy? The community strategy sets priorities for improving local people’s quality of life. Many organisations are already delivering local services and they have agreed to work together on these priorities. This strategy is a framework for these organisations to come together as partners to target resources and actions to tackle key local issues. It is not, however, a full list of everything the partners are doing or aim to do. The South Oxfordshire Partnership has prepared this strategy in consultation with local people and organisations.
