What is the standard test for hydrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide?

For hydrogen: put in a test tube a lighted splint. If hydrogen is present, then the splint will go out. For oxygen: put in a test tube a glowing splint. If oxygen is present, splint will relight. For carbon dioxide, bubble unknown gas through lime water. If gas is indeed carbon dioxide, lime water will turn a milky white.
