What is the status of the permitting process for the downtown Honolulu SWAC Project?
HSWAC has contracted the services of a Permit manager TEC, Inc. TEC personnel have identified all of the required permits. TEC and HSWAC personnel have met and exchanged information with all of the City & County of Honolulu, State, and federal agencies involved in permitting for this Project. HSWAC and TEC have also given presentations to environmental, engineering, and business groups, as well as the Downtown Neighborhood Board, and Ala Moana and Kaka’ako Neighborhood Board and answered questions. HSWAC intends to continue this process with additional meetings. HSWAC has prepared a preliminary Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) which is undergoing internal review. The EIS considers impacts of installation and operation of the system on natural, human-built, historical, cultural and socioeconomic resources.
