what is the story about the diary of anne frank?
Anne Frank was a young girl living in the Netherlands during the Second World War. Her family was Jewish, and because of the anti-Semitic laws, were forced to hide in her father’s office building for two years. Her family was eventually betrayed, and were forced into concentration camps. Seven months later, at the age of 15, Anne died from typhus.
The only survivor in the Frank family was Anne’s father, Otto. After the war, he returned to Amsterdam, where he found Anne’s diary. It was published in 1947, and was translated into English for publication in 1952.
It has since become a best-seller and is included in some lists of the century’s best books.
