What is the Student Conservation Association (SCA)?
SCA is the nations largest and oldest provider of national and community service opportunities in conservation, involving student and adult participants in the stewardship of our public lands and natural and cultural resources. What does SCA do? • Recruits and fields more than 2,200 high school, college, and adult volunteers and interns annually to help conserve our nations parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and other public lands. • Provides hands-on experience in conservation work, through which volunteers learn environmental management techniques and develop a commitment to public service, environmental stewardship, and volunteerism. • Manages SCAs Northeast AmeriCorps Program in Massachusetts, New York, and New Hampshire. • Fosters diversity in the conservation workforce by offering field experience, training, mentoring, and fellowship support to youth from diverse backgrounds. • Provides hands-on technical training in traditional conservation work skills and outdoor work crew manag
