What is the time frame for reviewing a child’s service plan when the child’s placement changes due to a change in the child’s needs?

Minimum standard 749.1333 does not currently include a specific time frame. Licensing staff will be reasonable when assessing compliance with this requirement based on the child’s circumstances. For example, if the child was turning 16 years old and was making a planned move to a foster home verified to provide transitional living services, Licensing staff would expect the service plan update to be completed at the time of the move. However, if the child was moving due to an unexpected change in the child’s behavior (suicidal gestures, aggressive acts, etc.), the child-placing agency would be given time after the emergency move to update the service plan appropriately.
