What is the traditional dress of Israel?
There isn’t one as there are so many different origins. If a team of folk dancers go out abroad and do a ‘representative of Israel’ type show, then they usually wear floaty skirts and soft shirts and fisherman type loose trousers, barefoot, in shades of the blue and white as are in the Israeli (Star of David) flag. Israel has so many different cultures of people in its mixed society… but there is no official Israeli costume (like say the Swiss one or the German one). Israel is made up of Ethiopians, Rumanians, Yemenites, Germans, Polish, Americans, British, Iraq, Iran, Turks….the list is endless….
