What is the Troop 417 Scout Bucks program?
Our Troop Treasurer keeps a separate account for each scout in his books. A scout can earn money for the account by participating in various troop fund raisers. Funds added to a Scout’s account may be used to defray the costs of certain outings and/or summer camp. Typically each year the Scouts participate in popcorn sales (Christmas time) and a pancake breakfast that is organized and run by the Scouts of Troop 417. Part of the proceeds are set aside for the Scout Bucks Program and part of the proceeds from these fund raisers are placed in the Troop’s general fund. The Troop’s general fund is used for troop camping equipment, some meetings, and to provide discounts for some outings.
