We’ve seen some benefits of combining a personality SELF assessment and a 360 feedback assessment.  Personality assessments are often designed to measure preference, temperament, intention, understanding — internal motivators — which lend themselves well to a self evaluation.  Effective 360 degree surveys are most often designed around observable, measurable behaviors that coworkers could reasonably be expected to have seen or heard and can comment on.  In combination, these two types of assessments can be very useful talent management tools.
