What is the Weather Like in Canberra?
Canberra is located within the ACT which is the Australian Capital Territory and has four distinct seasons because of its location. It is known to experience cold winters with occasional, but rare, snow falls and frost. It is also normal for the city to have dry and hot summers. Rainfall is infrequent and often occurs the most between the months of October and March. The hottest temperature reported in Canberra was 108 degrees F in February of 1968. While the temperatures do become cooler during the winter months, the sun continues to shine most days making it an extremely pleasant place to live. The coldest temperature reported was in July of 1971 at 14 degrees F.
