When the tire pressure changes to unsafe levels (and that can be too much pressure as well as too little) a set of sensors which are installed in each tire that send constant pressure readings to a receiver unit installed in the vehicle alerts the driver and keeps him or her aware of the tire pressure at all times. This is a Tire Pressure Management System (a/k/a TPMS).
