What is Transpiration, and how does it affect water movement in plants?

0

Transpiration occurs when water is lost from the stomata. Because water molecules are hydrogen bonded to other water molecules, when one molecule is lost through transpiration it pulls on the water molecules beside it. A little bit of pull from every molecule that escapes from the leaf, creates an upward pull of the water stream in the plant body.
