What is TRICARE For Life (TFL)?
TFL is a program administered by the Department of Defense (DOD) to provide continuing health care coverage for military retirees and their dependents who are over age 65. Previously these individuals had lost their military health coverage when they became eligible for Medicare. TFL works mainly as a Medicare Supplement Policy. TFL will process as a primary in cases where Medicare does not cover the service or Medicare benefits have been exhausted.
