What is TRiO Student Support Services?
Congress, in support of our nation’s commitment to provide an educational opportunity for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background, or economic circumstances, established a series of programs to help disadvantaged students to enter college, graduate and move on to participate more fully in America’s economic and social life. These programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and are known as TRIO programs. They may provide information, counseling, academic instruction, tutoring, assistance in applying for financial aid, encouragement and support.
