What is true diversity and what is the advantage of a true diversity wireless system over a single antenna version?

True diversity wireless systems use two antennas. Internally, a true-diversity receiver is constantly watching signal levels on both antennas and it always chooses to reproduce the stronger signal. When you use a unit that has only one antenna (a non-diversity system), you could experience dropout. In other words, you could be playing or singing and, just like that…no signal. You would have to reposition yourself so the antenna could pickup the signal again. Today’s systems are much more reliable than systems a few years ago, but there is more chance of dropout with non-diversity systems. With a true diversity system you have two antennas so when one signal does drop out the processor in the receiver switches to signal on the other antenna so you can keep on rockin’!
