– Tschernobyl / Chernobyl was a city in northern Ukraine, near the border with Belarus. It was evacuated in 1986 due to the Chernobyl disaster. The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear reactor accident in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Soviet Union. It is the worst nuclear power plant accident in history resulting in a severe release of radioactivity into the environment.
