What is TUPAC?
Peer Prevention Education- Research supports that young people are more likely to heed the messages of a peer than a well-meaning adult. TUPAC empowers middle and high school students to take leadership and become advocates for a healthier, smoke-free world. Youth Cessation- Free classes are offered to teen smokers who want to quit. Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things to do, but it can be done! Students learn about the reasons they may smoke and learn stress management and other strategies to quit or reduce their use. Policy- Federal and state laws require smoke-free schools. The use of tobacco products by students, staff, parents and visitors is not allowed on our campuses, in our vehicles, or at any school-sponsored events. TUPAC is working hard to ensure that these policies are enforced and offers a cessation program designed for students who violate the tobacco use policy.
