What is VCD and what equipment do I need to play a VCD?
VCD stands for ‘Video Compact Disc’ and basically it is a CD that contains moving pictures and sound. All titles from SBI have moving lyrics (song words) as video. The quality of a good VCD is about the same as a VHS tape. A VCD can be played on – Standalone VCD Players. – Almost all standalone DVD Players. – Playstations with VCD-addon – Sega Saturn with VCD-addon – Dreamcast with VCD-addon – All computers with a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM with a software VCD/MPG Player. Please note that our VCD discs use the CD-R (recordable CD) format. Please check that your player is compatible with CD-R before ordering!
