What is WDM and how is it different from VfW?
WDM (Windows Driver Model) is an API (Application Programming Interface) that allows developers to write drivers for multi-media devices, such as video capture cards, so that they can be used with Windows. VfW (Video for Windows) is the same, but WDM is newer and more efficient. If your card manufacturer gives you a choice between WDM and VfW drivers, and the WDM ones are known to work properly, choose the WDM ones.
