What is Wiccas view on social issues such as abortion and the death penalty?
Answer Alex, well met! Please know that Wicca takes no official stand on those social issues. However, inside of the practice you will find Wiccans who or pro-life and some who are pro-choice. You will find some who support the death penalty and some who oppose the death penalty. Wicca does not demand adherence to any lifestyle or dogma and is not so easily divided into “red (Republican)” or “blue (Democrat)” factions so to speak. Know that Wiccans are admonished only to follow one primary code of conduct which is known as the Wiccan Rede. As such it states: “Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill, An it harm none do what ye will.” For what it is worth I have met Wiccans who as people were/are: Heterosexual; Homosexual; Bi-sexual; Trans-gendered; Republican; Democrat; Universal Uniterian; Liberal; Conservative; Mothers; Fathers; Sons; Daughters; Grandparents; Highly paid professionals; Fast-food workers; Lawyers; Doctors; Police officers; Teachers and academics; Wise; Foolish; Naive; Stub
