What is workplace diversity and why do we need a program?
• Workplace diversity involves valuing the differences in every employee in the workplace and developing a culture where the diverse backgrounds, skills, talents and views of all staff and those seeking employment with the department are recognised, valued and encouraged. • Section 18 of the Public Service Act 1999, requires an Agency Head to establish a Workplace Diversity Program.
