What is your vision for the City’s inner harbour, including the Belleville Street Terminal and the Legislative Precinct?
Ours is the most active working harbour in Canada and reflects Victoria as an important port city with a rich maritime past. Modernize the Terminal to meet present day security and transportation requirements. Consider incorporating suitable public amenities and the Maritime Museum of BC. Developed in such a way that it can be expanded in the future to meet additional transportation needs. (IE: A passenger ferry between Victoria and Vancouver which would offset some of the current seaplane traffic.) Work with the provincial government to beautify and revitalize the area behind the legislature. I believe Cridge Park and the CP Lawn Bowling Green plays a vital role as an important first visual and physical step from the urban core of downtown to the greater green spaces beyond so am opposed to traditional development on that site.
