Zen Nippon Airinkai (ZNA) is a worldwide koi organization. Literally, the name means “All-Japan fishscale appreciation society.” Originally, it was an organization of koi and goldfish keepers. It soon outgrew itself and the koi and goldfish sections separated. The koi keepers retained the name. Membership is about 6,000 people in about 80 chapters around the world. Most of the chapters are in Japan, but international membership is increasing (there are about 10 chapters in the USA). ZNA headquarters in Japan is a non-profit corporation. For nearly 50 years it has been sponsoring the “All Japan Show” – the undisputed ultimate koi show in the world. ZNA Japan publishes a monthly magazine called “Nichirin.” It is available as a benefit of full membership and is published in both Japanese and English. The Southern California Chapeter of ZNA consists of over 100 members/families.
